President's Message

" . $Name .",

February has been a very busy month for Project Mañana -- with many exciting things to report:

Project Mañana hosted its first team in the Dominican Republic! The team was comprised of Project Mañana's Executive Team, Board of Directors, and a few key partners. There were eight people on the team.

Project Mañana releases its first advertisement with a magazine that publishes to more than 10,000 people!

Project Mañana is preparing for its first fundraising event. On Friday, March 18, 2011, NK Cigar Lounge will be hosting a fundraiser event benefiting Project Mañana and I would personally like to invite you to attend. Ticket sales have been limited to an exclusive group of 100 attendees.

Many thanks for all your support...I hope to see you at this event!

Working Together Today For A Better Tomorrow™

Sincerely,

Brian Berman, Founder & President

Project Mañana Hosted Its First Team In The Dominican Republic!

Last week, a core team of eight people traveled to the Dominican Republic to visit the Project Mañana Private School, meet the students, and build relationships in the community of La Yaguita de Pastor. The team was comprised of Project Mañana's Executive Team, Board of Directors, and a few key partners.

During the week-long trip, team members listened to Juan D'Leon (the school's administrator) cast his vision for the student's curriculum, play yard renovation (pictured to the right -- which includes plans for several sports areas), and a new industrial kitchen.

When Juan was asked by a team member what the most urgent need was, he responded humbly, "well, we really need a door on the preschool class so the children don't walk away when the teacher's back is turned." This comment alone, brought the team to tears and Project Mañana is now on a campaign to raise money to purchase doors for ALL classrooms.

Should you wish to help, please make a donation online -- be sure to write "DOORS" in the Comments field at checkout.

In addition to vision casting, several decisions were made and a 2011 strategic plan was developed. One of the team members even volunteered to support the school through a monthly donation; which will be specifically used to provide internet access in all the classrooms and throughout the school campus.

However, the best part of the trip (and the reason that Project Mañana exists) was the opportunity for each team member to meet the child which they sponsor. One sponsor even had the opportunity to play catch with his child; while another received a hand-painted card from his sponsored child.

Another trip is being planned for November of this year. Details will be released soon, however if you are interested in attending, please contact us.

Project Niños - Child Highlight

Meet Rosenny Tineo Pichardo -- a precious 7-year-old little girl attending preschool at Project Mañana's Private School.

Rosenny, like many of the children from La Yaguita de Pastor, Dominican Republic has spent her whole life in poverty. Her favorite food is white rice and fried platains...however, sometimes she must rely on the memory of how they taste. Often she goes to bed without the necessary nutrients for her developing body. Her small, run-down home is over-crowded with her family and, as one of the youngest children, she is often overlooked.

There is good news! Rosenny is enrolled at Project Mañana's Private School, where she is guaranteed a private education and a nutritious meal, 5 days per week.

Additionally, Rosenny has been partnered-up with an adult mentor to help guide her through everyday situations, questions, hopes, dreams, and fears.

Rosenny is in desperate need of a sponsor and she would love it to be YOU!

Please visit Project Mañana's website to read more about Rosenny and the other children in desperate need of sponsorship. You can easily sponsor a child online, by fax, or by mail.

 Project Mañana Needs Your Help!

Project Mañana is a non-profit 501(c)3 humanitarian organization dedicated to bettering the lives of impoverished children, their families and communities through nutrition, education, and guidance.

We achieve our goals through charitable donations and child sponsorship, which unites children in need with individual sponsors who wish to address the children's immediate and basic needs. Sponsorship gives poor children the tools and opportunities necessary for success by providing benefits and supporting programs for each child - primarily in the areas of education and nutrition.
