Project Mañana Launches Clean Water Project
Water filter distribution in San Pablo See More Photos on Facebook We were heartbroken to learn that more than 90% of the 675+ people who visited the clinic were suffering from dehydration and other illnesses related to drinking the community's contaminated water. With the average monthly income for a family of 6-8 people hovering around $75-$100US, many families don't have enough money to buy bottled water. During the medical clinic, one of the doctors said, "if we could just get clean drinking water into this community, we would literally save lives and cure most of the pains people are experiencing." Since that day, Project Mañana's team has been tirelessly researching various clean-water solutions -- and we are VERY excited to announce that, finally, we have found a low-cost, low-maintenance water purification system called Filter of Hope. Created by Global Effect, the Filter of Hope is a revolutionary water purification system that can produce 546,000 gallons of clean water over a 10-year period. (Watch The Video) Filter of Hope Facts:
PROGRESS SO FAR Project Mañana has distributed 26 Filter of Hope systems to impoverished families living in San Pablo. 32 Inmates Graduate From Project Mañana's Prison Program
Mike Broyles (L) and Brian Berman (R) with merit award graduates See More Photos on Facebook Over the last five years, William's team has used The Quest for Authentic Manhood program by Dr. Robert Lewis -- and more than 800 inmates have successfully graduated from this 24-course program. In July 2013, as part of Project Mañana's effort to assist William in the expansion of the prison project, Project Mañana hosted a week-long chaplain training by Mike Broyles (Executive Director of Awana Lifeline); who introduced a second curriculum called Malachi Dads; which seeks to reform inmates by teaching the importance of family values. After several months of preparation and training of the chaplain team, Project Mañana helped to form the Institute For Authentic Manhood™ and added the Malachi Dads curriculum. On March 17, 2014 at the Moca prison, Project Mañana hosted a graduation celebration for the first class of 32 inmates who successfully completed the Malachi Dads program. SPONSOR AN IMATE For a one-time sponsorship of $30 US, you can partner with Project Mañana and sponsor an inmate to attend the Institute For Authentic Manhood.™ Your sponsorship will provide the inmate with:
