Mission Team Helps Prepare School & Serves Local Community
Team from Center Pointe Christian Church Some of the members in this team have been long-time supporters of Project Mañana and the San Pablo community -- and we were so grateful for their presence in the Dominican Republic! Their unbridled joy and familiar faces brought a smile to the children of San Pablo and Project Mañana's team. During their 8-day trip, the team painted, sledgehammered, pickaxed, shoveled, and wheelbarrowed to prepare Project Mañana's private school grounds for the arrival of our students for the 2016/2017 school year. By the end of their trip, the school was beautifully painted and the grounds were nicely covered in gravel. Project Mañana is also grateful that this team joined hands with the in-country staff in order to continue the work in the community of San Pablo by distributing clean water filters and deepening relationships with the children and the San Pablo community as a whole. Thanks to God and this team, we are excited to report these advancements:

Back to School: 2016/2017
Project Mañana Students - 2nd Grade On September 1st, classes resumed at Project Mañana's private school with an official enrollment of 98 students (a 10% increase from last year)! Additionally, the school opened a 5th grade level for the first time. Project Mañana also open the 2016/2017 school year with the inauguration of its brand new two-story, six-classroom school building. Beautifully constructed, this new building replaced the existing wooden school building. Each classroom is larger in size, has adequate ventilation, and offers a light/bright learning environment. Words cannot express the significant impact this has on the community of San Pablo and 98 children who previously had to cross over a dangerous freeway (watch video) to the nearest public school or didn't attend at all. If you would like to help provide an impoverished child with proper nutrition and a private education, please visit the Child Sponsorship section of our website.

100% of San Pablo Families Now Have Access To Clean Water
A Dominican woman with her new water filtration system After a team of 16 doctors, nurses, and medical professionals saw 675 patients in just two days, it was determined that 95% of the ailments being reported were related to the lack of access to clean water. Brian Berman, president of Project Mañana, recalls that operative in 2013: "Other than the day my mother passed away, I've never cried so hard. It just seemed so simple and important... we needed to bring clean water to [San Pablo] right away." Through the hard work and generous donations of many partners and mission teams, Project Mañana is exited to report that 100% of the families living in San Pablo now have a clean water filtration system. These systems are currently producing 15,658,500 gallons of clean water each year. Achieving this milestone has also allowed Project Mañana to expand its Clean Water Project beyond the community of San Pablo. We will be making the first distribution of 100 clean water filtration systems to the community of El Copey in the coming weeks. Help Reach the Phase 4 Hope Center Building Project Goal!
Progress on the fundraising campaign to build the Hope Center, a state-of-the-art community center in San Pablo, Dominican Republic, is moving along. We are pleased to announce that Phase 1, Phase 2, and now Phase 3 of our campaign have been FULLY FUNDED -- that's $46,800 raised! It's now time to work on funding Phase 4; putting us one step closer to completing the Hope Center building project. Once the Hope Center is complete, it will offer more space to provide hundreds of impoverished children in San Pablo with nutritious meals, clean water, medical clinics, and more.
We Need Your Help! Please help get the word out to your family and friends -- and let’s put Phase 4 behind us also. Click Here to share this campaign on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, and other social networks. Please Donate Today! The total project cost is estimated at $166,800 U.S. and construction can immediately begin once we've raised the funds. The faster we're able to raise the money, the sooner we can extend aid to children who desperately need your help. PLEASE DONATE TODAY: 100% of your tax-deductible donation will be allocated directly to the Hope Center building fund.
